From Aarde
Aarde is, and has been, and will be, a very large scale, extremely ambitious, unprecedented, complex, phased, life long experiment sparking and unfolding a brand new real country on our planet.
Aarde’s size is approximately five thousand square kilometers (roughly the size of province Gelderland, The Netherlands). This year, 2018, our population hovers around 750,000 and Aarde is a completely independent sovereign country since 2010. Real citizens, a real constitution, a real economy—albeit using a disruptive new economic model based on gifts and social credit—real landscapes, real regions, real towns, real villages, real buildings, a real culture, and a real, exalted society.
Aarde’s climate is temperate, with sharp regional contrasts and its terrain is characterized by flat plains or gently rolling hills in north and west. The rest is rugged and mountainous, with some coastal lowlands and sunny beaches.
Aarde is the first country in the world with a positive economic footprint—adding to, rather than subtracting from, a whole planet every second. Aarde is governed by a a radical chaordic fractal self-governing sociocracy or holacracy.
This radical new and innovative effort resonates with the emerging new era gaining significance around 2006, 12 years ago. In those years, Aarde’s agile and fractal design and unfolding provides a unique one-time global opportunity to create the future and shape history and calls out for media to get involved from day one—reporting on its evolution, charting the challenges, documenting the social, cultural, political and economical hurdles, educating the worldwide viewers, listeners, readers and contributors. And, most important, tracked and recorded many individuals and pioneers in their tough, hard, yet joyful journey. In short, getting attention for what matters most.
Leveraging investments and strategic philanthropic directions by companies like Google and others only strengthen and fuel these initiatives.
